Icelandair Group’s Annual General Meeting will be held next month. Now a special nomination committee has proposed five names on the board, reported Turisti.is.

The names of Ómar Benediktsson and Heiðrúnar Jónsdóttir are not to be found among the five proposed by the Icelandair Group nomination committee to appoint a new board of directors. Instead, it is proposed that John F. Thomas and Nina Jonsson take their seats there. Guðmundur Hafsteinsson, Svöfa Grönfeldt and Ulf Steindórsson, who has been chairman of the board for the past years are expected to continue.

Nina Jonsson has decades of experience in the aviation sector and has held management positions with companies such as Air France-KLM, United, US Airways. She has a relationship with Iceland, as the name implies, but Jonsson currently works for the consulting firm Plane View Partners, which was involved in negotiations between Indigo Partners and WOW air.

John F. Thomas was in charge of Virgin Australia’s National Department for a short time and is now a consultant in the aviation sector.
