Hungarian low-cost airline WizzAir discontinues flying from Vilnius (ICAO: EYVI) to Keflavik (ICAO: BIKF) at summer 2020, reported Turisti.is with a comment of WizzAir information officer.
“We constantly re-evaluate our route system and make changes as needed. We, therefore, had to adapt our operations in Vilnius to the demand as it is today and the market conditions,” says Wizz Air’s information officer in response to a request from the tourist.
This winter, Wizz Air jets have flown to Iceland twice a week from Vilnius in Lithuania. However, it was not the intention of the company’s management to keep the flight out all year round, but demand was high that the trips were continued at the end of the last summer season.
On the other hand, it is clear that Wizz Air is planning to discontinue not only winter flights to Iceland from the capital of Lithuania but also summer vacations.
Upcoming summer flight Wizz Air expects flights to Keflavik Airport from nine European cities. There are just as many cities as last summer because Krakow in Poland has added while Vilnius is dropping.
