Icelandair has suggested to all its employees to take an unpaid vacation or to use parental leave for the period up to several months as a reaction to the loss of revenue. The message was published in the private group of Icelandair staff on Facebook, two of Flugblogg’s sources confirmed. Press-office of Icelandair did not confirm this information yet.
Earlier today it was noticed that travel ban on flights to the United States, established yesterday by the US president Donald Trump, affects 27% of Icelandair scheduled flights. Before that Icelandair expressed uncertainty due to decrease of travellers because of the spreading of COVID-19 virus and grounding of Boeing 737 MAX.
