Isavia hires the new director of aviation security at Keflavík Airport

Auður Ýr Sveinsdóttir has been hired as the director of aviation security at Keflavík Airport. For the past four years, she has been the Deputy CEO of the high-tech company Valka, as well as managing the company’s operations and human resources department. Prior to that, she was Head of Quality Management, LEAN and Internal Communications at Rio Tinto (ISAL) in Straumsvík.

Auður holds a B.Sc. degree in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University and an M.Sc. in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Maryland in the United States.

“Auður has extensive knowledge and experience that will be useful to us in the development of the unit in the future,” says Anna Björk Bjarnadóttir, Managing Director of Services and Operations at Isavia. “It is a great addition to an experienced group in aviation security at Keflavík Airport.”
