The airline WOW air has applied for Air operator’s certificate (AOC), RÚV reported. Ögmundur Gíslason, an aviation operations engineer who works for Michele Ballarin, says that there is full intention to rebuild the fallen company, according to Fréttablaðið.

WOW air went bankrupt and ceased all operations on the morning of March 28, 2019. Since then, there have been regular reports from the owner of the bankruptcy estate, Michele Ballarin, that the company’s restoration is underway.

The registered name of the company is Háutindar ehf. The aforementioned Michele Ballarin is the registered CEO and Chairman of the Board, with a 49 per cent share. Málsefni ehf. is listed for a 33 per cent share and Tangar ehf. for 19 per cent.

Michelle Ballarin told RÚV last year, that the launch of WOW air flights is expected in 2021. She said this during the interview in the mansion she claimed as her property, however, it was revealed that the real owners of the mansion don’t know her.
