The first plane of the Israeli airline El Al from Tel Aviv in Israel to Iceland landed at Keflavík Airport around 14:00 UTC 14.July 2021. It was a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with registration 4X-ERB. Yesterday’s flight was the first of five in terms of the new charter program to Iceland this summer with a group of tourists from Israel. These flights will run until August 18. El Al is thus added to the group with the 20 airlines that have already started flights to and from Keflavík Airport this summer.

At the end of July, on July 27, another Israeli airline, Arkia, will be added to the group. Arkia will fly 5 trips with Israeli travel groups to the country until 31 August.

Neither airline has flown to Keflavík Airport before and they are welcomed to the country.
