Icelandair together with travel agents VITA, Ferðaskrifstofa Íslands, and Heimsferðir started the evacuation of Icelanders, who were on their vacation on Tenerife and Las Palmas. The first three planes had arrived to Keflavik in the evening 17 of March. According to Flugblogg’s source in the airport, all planes were unloaded at far stands and passengers were sent to quarantine.

The plan of evacuation includes 15 flights during the next 4 days. The approximate number of evacuated tourists is 3000. On the morning of 18 of March, there are 247 infected with COVID-19 in Iceland, among them three are in hospital. Meanwhile, the first five infected Icelanders just fully recovered and came back to their normal life.
