Iceland would become isolated from outer world very soon, according to Icelandic Minister of Foreign Affairs Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson. Therefore he motivated Icelanders all over the world to come back home as soon as they can, because later they will be left without such opportunity.

This week Icelandair already had started to evacuate Icelandic citizens from Tenerife and Las Palmas, organising 15 flights. It is expected that around 3000 Icelanders will be delivered on these flights.

According to Frettablaðið, more than 9000 Icelanders are still abroad on the territories affected by COVID-19.
